Rugs

A rug was never meant simply to match the sofa.
Or behave quietly beneath the furniture.

It can carry colour across a room.
Turn pattern into landscape.
Give softness to geometry
and centuries of craft somewhere new to go.

Some begin with nature.
Some with ancient symbols.
Some with nothing more obedient than a line —
until someone decides to let it wander.

Wool rises.
Silk catches the light.
Texture turns an image into something you can feel.

And suddenly the lowest surface in the room
has something to say.

These are rugs worth looking down for.

…preferably barefoot. 💋
